Closely following his earlier engagement with farmers at the inauguration of the Ibato-Iraan Small Reservoir Irrigation Project (SRIP) in Aborlan town, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led the launch of the Bawat Bayan Makikinabang Program in Puerto Princesa City on Thursday.

During this engagement, the President led the distribution of 10-kg sacks of rice to 1,000 beneficiary-families using financial resources under the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF).

After facilitating the rice distribution, he went on to facilitate the disbursement of P20,000 to students chosen as Presidential scholars through the BBM Program.

The national government also turned over assistance to selected barangays in Puerto Princesa City to strengthen community services.

Five barangays received 100 monoblock chairs and two retractable tents each, while 10 barangays were provided with computer sets, projectors, and tripod screens to support community activities, public gatherings, and the delivery of government services.

As of press time, the government has already distributed financial resources under the Socio-Civic Projects Fund (SCPF) to 56,979 barangays in the country, which include the 66 barangays in Puerto Princesa City.

The BBM Program continues to provide food and financial assistance to local governments across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, thus complementing the administration’s campaign towards hunger alleviation and uplifting communities nationwide.
