Recognizing the valiant efforts of individuals who went the extra mile in delivering services to their communities, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led the awarding of the Medallion of Excellence to the 2026 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos on Tuesday.
In his speech, the President honored the awardees—four teachers, three soldiers, and three police officers—for going above and beyond their line of duty and showcasing their exceptional dedication to their respective professions.
President Marcos Jr. addressed the 10 honorees, “They wear different uniforms, but they share the same instinct: To serve our people above all else.”
He expounded, “Each chose a life of service and remains committed to it throughout all these years. And the value of that service can be seen in what they leave behind—stronger institutions, safer communities, lives changed for the better.”
The Chief Executive went on to enumerate how each awardee contributed to enhancing the sectors of education, law enforcement, and national security from all corners of the country.
He likewise championed excellent public service as pivotal in making government initiatives and programs resonate with Filipinos, as exemplified by the honorees’ unwavering dedication to their careers.
The annual program, which began in 1985, looks into the entire careers of handpicked Filipinos who have showcased exemplary performance in their respective fields of discipline and have served their communities wholeheartedly.
