President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. recognized the indispensable role of the eGov app in fast-tracking and streamlining the digitalization of government transactions and services, in his speech at the fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA) held at Batasang Pambansa, Quezon City on Monday.

Since the government’s flagship superapp launched in 2023, the mobile software has expanded by leaps and bounds, with more functions being added to the app as the years went by.

The Chief Executive meanwhile hinted at upcoming features that will be eventually integrated into the eGov app, which includes the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Clearance, BEEP cards for Metro Rail Transit (MRT) and Light Rail Transit (LRT), and eTIN (electronic Tax Identification Number) from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).

The President concluded by encouraging the citizenry to download and register on the eGov app, which is a realization of his vision of a “digitalized government” under the Bagong Pilipinas.
