Ensuring Filipinos have access to decent and affordable homes, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led the ceremonial turnover of 333 housing units in Barangay Arkong Bato, Valenzuela City on Tuesday.
Located across multiple low-rise buildings, the housing units in Disiplina Village are intended for informal settler families (ISFs) in Valenzuela City, including those who previously lived along the Tullahan River and waterways leading to Manila Bay.
These are intended to complement the administration’s push to decongest waterways and give ISFs a chance to start a new chapter in their lives under better living conditions.
President Marcos Jr. outlined other benefits of the new housing project, “Bukod sa seguridad ng isang maayos na kabahayan, ang isa pang maganda sa proyektong ito ay malapit ito sa mga paaralan at mga pagamutan. Mas madali para sa mga bata ang makapag-aral at para sa pamilya na masiguro ang kanilang mga kalusugan.”
He addressed the new homeowners, “Inaasahan ko po na ito ay simula ng pagbuo ninyo sa mga masasayang alaala ng inyong pamilya. Nawa sa mga tahanan na ito ay mapalaki ninyo ng maayos ang inyong mga anak at maipagpatuloy ang mga pangarap na matagal na ninyong pinagsisikapang abutin.”
Disiplina Village forms part of the 600,000 houses that were built under several infrastructure programs by the government from July 2022 to July 2026.
This includes the expanded Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program led by the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), in collaboration with the private sector and the following attached agencies:
- National Housing Authority (NHA)
- Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC)
- Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-IBIG Fund)
- National Home Mortgage Financing Corporation (NHMFC)
