By Katrina Gracia Consebido

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and the National Housing Authority (NHA) turned over on Monday, Dec. 5, 30,000 house and lot units to qualified beneficiaries.

The NHA housing projects were awarded to informal settlers (ISFs) affected by the Supreme Court Mandamus to rehabilitate Manila Bay, ISFs living along danger areas, and families affected by government infrastructure projects.

Marcos and NHA General Manager Joeben Tai personally handed the Certificates of Eligibility for Lot Awards (CELA) to five families representing the 3,000 beneficiaries present in the event in Naic, Cavite.

The awarding of house and lot units were held simultaneously in NHA project sites in National Capital Region, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The grand awarding of NHA’s certificates of house and lot is an accomplishment of Tai’s pledge to the President to “Build Better and More” houses for homeless Filipinos, which is also among the housing agency’s commitment to build 1.3 million house units.

The distribution of Transfer of Certificate Titles (TCTs) to seven Kapatiran member in Bukidnon and awarding of enhanced units in Bronville in Naic, Cavite to 24 former rebels was done through the coordination with the Office of the Presidential Adviser for Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity.

Tai said they are also working on having ties with other government agencies and the private sector to provide more livelihood opportunities to all housing beneficiaries. – gb
