PBBM orders free train rides for commuters as Labor Day tribute

By Dean Aubrey Caratiquet

In recognition of the workers’ dedication and sacrifices towards contributing to the economic progress and growth of the nation, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has ordered free rides on MRT-3, LRT-1, and LRT-2 for all commuters, which will run from April 30 to May 3.

The Chief Executive’s gesture is part of the Labor Day celebrations, serving as a token of gratitude to the country’s labor force that continues to shape the ebb and flow of products and services across the archipelago.

Happy Labor Day!” the President added.

This year’s Labor Day celebrations reflect the government’s proactive stance towards empowering the domestic workforce through various support programs and wage reforms that help in facilitating inclusive economic growth.

The Department of Transportation and rail operators are expected to implement the directive, ensuring smooth and safe rides for workers during the four-day period.
