The penultimate State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. this Monday afternoon is estimated to last around 1 hour and 20 minutes, according to Malacañang.
In a message to Palace reporters, Palace Press Officer Usec. Claire Castro said this is based on the President’s rehearsal on Sunday evening.
President Marcos Jr. earlier stressed that while his script is already complete, he would probably revise it before he delivers his speech at the Batasang Pambansa Complex.
For his 5th SONA, the President is expected to unfurl the government’s achievements as well as the continuing commitment to address perennial societal issues, including poverty, hunger, and corruption among others.
In a media interview on the sidelines of the inauguration of Jose B. Lingad Children’s Medical Center at the Clark Freeport Zone in Mabalacat City, Pampanga on July 24, the Chief Executive said he would highlight the government’s measures to cushion the impact of global uncertainties on the country.
“I will make sure that people will know all of the things that we have done to navigate this very difficult period in our history, where we are buffeted by all of these external forces,” he said.
Malacañang earlier said Marcos Jr.’s 5th SONA will be “simple yet dignified,” with no celebrity directors or star-studded performances.
The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Chorale has been tapped to sing the Philippine National Anthem, while Radio Television Malacañang (RTVM) will direct the program.
