The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) expressed condolences on Wednesday, June 21, to the loved ones of Genard Santos, a PCG officer who died after being gunned down in Lower Calarian, Zamboanga.
CG Ensign Santos was 29.
According to the PCG, Santos was shot by an unidentified suspect when he was about to ride his motorcycle on June 15.
He was brought to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Santos had been involved in PCG’s anti-smuggling operations in Zamboanga.
He was also a member of the Coast Guard Officers’ Course Class 25-2020 Duha Limara. –ag
