PCG, palalakasin ang seguridad sa Philippine Rise sa tulong ng buoys

Palalakasin pa ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) ang seguridad sa karagatan ng bansa sa pamamagitan ng paglalagay ng lighted ocean buoys na binili mula sa navigation company Mediterraneo Señales Maritimas sa Spain.

Kasunod ito ng pagdating sa Cebu ng tatlo mula sa sampung “state-of-the-art lighted ocean buoys,” mga ilaw na may paglalayong mapaigting ang kakayahan ng PCG sa pagpapanatili ng kaligtasan at pagpapatupad ng mga restrictions sa Philippine Rise o dating Benham Rise.

Nitong Lunes (May 10), sinabi ni PCG Commandant Admiral George Ursabia Jr. na ang ilalagay na buoys sa Philippine Rise ay magsisilbing marka para sa maayos na pagbiyahe ng mga barko at teritoryo ng Pilipinas.

Ang mga buoys ay mayroong makabagong navigation lantern, specialized mooring systems, at remote monitoring system na kayang maglipat ng datos o pangyayari papunta sa PCG National Headquarters sa Port Area, Manila.

Pangungunahan ng PCG Maritime Safety Services Command at M-NAV Solutions Inc. ang paglalagay ng mga 30-foot long buoys sa May 12.

Dagdag ni Ursabia, ang presensya ng mga buoys sa Philippine Rise ay magpapaigting ng seguridad sa nasabing special protected zone.
