The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) rescued six stranded passengers aboard a distressed motor banca in Pandak Island, Hadji Muhtamad in Basilan.

The distressed motor banca, captained by 38-year-old Gabby Mundih, left Jolo, Sulu towards Zamboanga City.

The motor banca sank after high waves damaged the boat’s hull, causing it to submerge.

PCG immediately sent a search and rescue crew to find the motor banca and recover the passengers to bring them to Coast Guard Sub-Station Maluso. – gb
