PCG Search operation for 14 Filipinos missing in Mindoro sea mishap ends July 7

The full search and retrieval operation of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) for the 14 missing Filipinos who perished in the Mindoro sea mishap has ended on Tuesday, July 7.

Authorities have sent an aerial surveillance team, ship and boats to search the sea of Mindoro, the upper part of Coron and south of Batangas to no avail.

The Filipino crew has been missing for almost 10 days after their fishing boat collided with a Hongkong cargo vessel, causing grave despair to their families. They are calling for justice and assistance.

According to Irma Fishing and Trading Incorporated, the M/V Vienna Wood has not coordinated with the company since the incident.

The PCG has filed a case of reckless imprudence resulting to multiple homicide and damage to property against the shipping company and personnel of the foreign cargo bulk carrier. The vessel is currently detained at the Port of Batangas.

The PCG assured it will push for the conviction of those who are responsible and the payment of damages.
