PCOO chief lauds SoKor investors’ CSR works in PH

MANILA — Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary (PCOO) Martin Andanar on Wednesday thanked businessmen from South Korea for their corporate social responsibility works in the Philippines.

“We are privileged to honor the CSR of Korean companies that do business in our country,” said Andanar at the “2018 CSR Awards for Korean Companies in the Philippines”.

During his speech, the PCOO chief also lauded the South Korean investors’ role in bridging and strengthening cooperation between Manila and Seoul.

“They exemplify the broad spectrum, of the present and the potential Korean investors and companies. They address the very essence of corporate social responsibility, and they strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between our two countries,” he noted.

The official said President Rodrigo Duterte himself appreciated the contribution Korean companies have given towards the growth of the country’s economy.

Andanar said the chief executive has established an economic base to further attract investments to the Philippines.

“And the recognition of the awards today, is an expressed confidence in the corporate social responsibilities you have performed,” he added.

Among the guests at the awarding are Korean Ambassador to the Philippines Han Dong-Man, Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship Joey Concepcion, PEZA Director General Charito Plaza, Korean Chamber of Commerce Philippines president Ho Ik Lee, and Asian Institute of Management dean and president, Dr. Jikyeong Kang. (Joyce Ann L.
