PCOO Secretary on the International Women’s Day

We are one with the Filipino women and all the women around the world in celebrating International Women’s Day.

The role of women in all aspects of our lives continues to be a vital part in our community- and nation-building, especially as we currently respond to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Although the Philippines remains the top Asian country in terms of promoting gender parity and equality according to the Global Gender Gap Report of the World Economic Forum, the Duterte administration continues to be unrelenting in the pursuit of empowering women and providing them with equal access to education, economic and growth opportunities, health care, and other public services, among others.

Let us all support and participate in programs, activities, and advocacies that empower women to further address and overcome societal challenges, and achieve collective prosperity and development.

We wish everyone a safe and dignified celebration of Women’s Day.
