PDEA Chief vows resignation if ‘sell-bust’ is proven

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Chief Wilkins Villanueva has offered to resign from his position if a “sell-bust” is proven in the misencounter between Philippine National Police (PNP) officers and PDEA agents.

The PDEA Chief challenged those who claim the misencounter was a “sell-bust” to release CCTV evidence of an agent pretending to sell drugs to catch the suspect.

Several reports have shown that the police officers bought 1 kilogram of shabu from an alleged PDEA asset before the shootout. However, PDEA Chief Villanueva refused to comment on the incident and insisted to wait for results of the parallel investigation of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). -PTV News
