Some eleven million six hundred thousand pesos (Php11,600,000.00) worth of dangerous drugs were destroyed by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Davao del Norte on November 21, 2017.

Antonio Rafael del Rosario, Provincial Governor of Davao del Norte, and Judge Sharon Rose Saracin, Presiding Judge, RTC Branch 30, led the destruction ceremony of the illegal drug evidence turned over by authorities that were recently ordered by the court to be destroyed.

The activity was also witnessed by the municipal mayors of Davao del Norte namely: Virginia Perandos of Carmen, Leah Moral of B.E. Dujak, and Rhodora Alcoran of New Corella, representatives from the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO), Atty. Kim Galagala, Prosecutor Roman Bondaon from the Department of Justice (DOJ), Joel Jorolan from the Civil Society Group, Ruel Dagsangan from the local media, and members of the Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council.

“PDEA continues to regularly destroy illegal drugs right before the public, allaying any misconception that these pieces of drug and non-drug evidence are being recycled or peddled back in the streets”, Aquino added.
