The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office VII (PDEA VII) confiscated half a kilo of shabu with an estimated worth of P3.4 million on Friday, Dec. 3, from former mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter, Slotty Avila.

A total of 25 packs of suspected shabu weighing around 500 grams were seized from Avila.

Also confiscated were three digital weighing scales, some money transfer receipts, and assorted drug paraphernalia.

There was also plastic packaging of online shopping companies and courier services “which he uses to conceal the illegal drugs before handing the drugs to his buyers,”  as well as empty plastic tea bags.

PDEA VII operatives and other personnel of Naval Forces Central conducted the drug operation in Cebu island.

Violation of Sections 11 and 12, Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against Avila. -ag
