PH administers over 6-M vaccine doses

The Department of Health (DOH) announced on Wednesday (June 9) that over six million COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the Philippines.

In a Laging Handa public briefing, DOH Director Napoleon Arevalo said that a total of 6,314,548 vaccine doses have been administered to the public, with 4,632,826 doses given as a first dose and 1,681,722 individuals have completed the second dose as of June 8.

 “So total po natin ngayon, 4.6 million mahigit para sa mga first doses at ang naka-complete po natin ng 2 doses ay mahigit 1.6 million – total of 6.3 million na po ang ating naibakuna sa ating mga kababayan po.”

He showed that 1,412,187 medical frontliners, 1,622,613 senior citizens, 1,568,809 persons with comorbidities, and 29,217 economic frontliners have been vaccinated with the first dose, while 886,420 medical frontliners, 415,540 senior citizens, 373,493 persons with comorbidities, and 6,269 economic frontliners have completed their COVID-19 vaccination.

Arevalo said that the registration for the A4 population is still ongoing since it has the largest number of population from the priority listing. Based on the National Economic and Development Authority’s (NEDA) data, the 13 million individuals are under the A4 category.

“Patuloy po ang pagpapa-register ng ating mga A4 population or segment kasi po ito ay napakarami. Tinatayang nationwide, mayroon po tayong 13 million ayon sa datos ng NEDA. Patuloy po ang ating pagrerehistro dito at nasabi ko na po kanina na may 29,000 na tayong nabakunahan sa hanay nila at ito ay itinutuloy na natin sa NCR + 8 na simultaneous ang ating pagbabakuna sa A1, A2 and A3 + 4, however ito po ay magdedepende rin po sa availability ng bakuna natin na idi-deliver sa ating bansa,” he explained.
