The Philippine Army began the construction of a P33-million two-story modular facility at its headquarters in Fort Bonifacio on Tuesday, Oct. 11.
The modular building was donated by the Armed Forces and Police Mutual Benefit Association Inc. (AFPMBAI).
Aside from modular facility donation, the AFPMBAI also turned over P19-million worth of mobility assets, information and communication technology equipment, four units of electrocardiogram machines, five computer sets, and other essential office equipment for different headquarters of Philippine Army offices and major units.
The donation is a part of AFPMBAI’s commitment to administer parts of their income for social services programs of AFP and the Philippine National Police.
“The Philippine Army is fortunate to have AFPMBAI whose genuine benevolence for the Army’s servant-soldiers has bolstered our operational capacity,” Army Vice Commander Maj. Gen. Camilo Ligayo said.
Ligayo added that the donated facility and equipment will “empower and capacitate our servant-soldiers in fulfilling their core purpose of serving the people and securing the land.” –gb
