The Philippine Army welcomed newly promoted generals in a ceremony at Fort Bonifacio on Friday, Jan. 20, including Maj. Gen. Antonio G. Nafarrete of the1st Infantry Division and Maj. Gen. Audrey L. Pasia of the 5th Infantry Division.

The ceremony was led by the Saluting Battery of the Army Artillery Regiment.

Also welcomed by the ceremony were Brig. Gen. Ferdinand B. Napuli of the Special Forces Regiment (Airborne); Brig. Gen. Oriel L. Pangcog of the 601st Infantry Brigade, 6th Infantry Division (6ID); Brig. Gen. Perfecto P. Peñaredondo of the 803rd Infantry Brigade, 8th Infantry Division (8ID); Brig. Gen. Lenart R. Lelina of the 801st Infantry Brigade, 8ID; and Brig. Gen. Rommel B. Almaria of the 401st Infantry Brigade, 4th Infantry Division.

Brig. Gen. Edmundo G. Peralta of the 902nd Infantry Brigade, 9th Infantry Division; Brig. Gen. Leodevic G. Guinid of the 1st Brigade Combat Team; Brig. Gen. Noel A. Vestuir of the 802nd Infantry Brigade, 8ID; Brig. Gen. Francis Anthony M. Coronel, of the Army Artillery Regiment; Brig. Gen. Joel M. Paloma, assistant division commander of the 4th Infantry Division; and Brig. Gen. Michael A. Santos of the 603rd Infantry Brigade, 6ID were also included.

Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo Brawner expressed optimism that their new post will motivate them to serve the country.

“Ang pagiging heneral ay patunay ng inyong kahusayan at dedikasyon sa inyong sinumpaang tungkulin bilang mga pinuno ng ating hukbo,” Brawner said.

“Aking hinahangad na ang inyong mga bagong ranggo ay magsisilbing motibasyon upang inyong pag-ibayuhin ang paglilingkod sa ating hukbo at sa ating bayan,” he added. -ag
