PH bows to Australia at AFC Women’s Asia Football Cup

NEW DELHI – Australia and Thailand scored identical 4-0 victories in the ongoing AFC Women’s Asia Football Cup in India’s south-western state of Maharashtra on Monday, Jan. 24.

Against the Philippines, Australia had all its four goals netted in the second half through the tournament’s top scorer Samantha Kerr, Dominique Randle, Emily Egmond, and Mary Fowler.

For Thailand who led 2-0 in the first half, Kanyanat Chetthabutr celebrated her hat trick while Irravadee Makris scored the other against Indonesia.

In the last match of the day, Japan defeated Vietnam 3-0 with Yui Narumiya scoring twice and Saki Kumagai making the other. (Xinhua) – bny
