PH cases continue to go down, logs 425 Tuesday

The country’s daily reported COVID-19 cases continue to decline with only 425 cases reported on Tuesday (Nov. 30), as the country pushes through with its three-day national vaccination drive.

The new case count is among the lowest since July 2022. The country’s positivity rate is at 2.1%.

The National Capital Region (NCR) is also showing a decline in its seven-day average of cases from 292 between Nov. 16 and 22, to 204 between Nov. 23 to 29.

Dr. Guido David of OCTA Research Group said the last time the region recorded these low figures was in June 2020. Metro Manila currently has a positivity rate of 1.47%.

Meanwhile, the Metro Manila Council (MMC) has been preparing its response on the Omicron variant, especially its contact tracing capability, despite a decline in the number of cases.

“Ngayon pa lang pinapaimbentaryo na namin ang basic na ginawa natin, ‘yung isolation natin, lalong-lalo na ‘yung contact tracers,” Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairperson Benhur Abalos said.

Metro Manila will remain under Alert Level 2 until Dec. 15, 2021. – Report from Mark Fetalco/AG-rir
