PH-China eyes economic cooperation amidst pandemic

The Philippines and China trust that the economic cooperation of the 2 countries can still be expanded amidst the global health crisis.

In the first Philippines-China relations forum attended by Chinese Ambassador Huang Xilian, Former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ramon Lopez, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) President Jin Linquin, the officials emphasized the importance of expanding international cooperation to fight the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

“China is keen on working closely with countries including the Philippines to pave the way together,” Amb. Xilian assured.

Moreover, Association for Philippines-China Understanding Chairman Emeritus Arroyo stated that the relationship between the Philippines and China is “priority for our country”.

“Reeling from the onslaught of the pandemic, one of the overriding concerns for both the Philippines and China is to reinvigorate the economy and ensure our two peoples’ well-being,” she added.
