PH detects 6 new cases of BA.5 subvariant

The Department of Health (DOH) recorded on Wednesday, June 15, six new cases of Omicron BA.5 subvariant and 10 new cases of BA.2.12.1 subvariant.

According to DOH, individuals detected with BA.5 subvariant are from the National Capital Region (NCR), Regions 2, 6 and 10, and one whose address is still being validated.

Of the positive cases, four individuals are fully vaccinated while others are still being verified.

One is still undergoing home isolation, the other five individuals already recovered.

Moreover, individuals that have been detected with the BA.2.12.1 subvariant came from NCR, Regions 4A, 2, 5, 6, and one returning overseas Filipino.

Only three individuals have been confirmed to be fully vaccinated while the rest are still under verification. –KC/gb
