PH files diplomatic protest vs China’s new law

Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. filed a diplomatic protest against China’s new law allowing its coast guard to use firearms against foreign vessels in its claimed territories.

In a tweet, DFA Sec. Locsin believes that while the country has the right to create its own rulings, China’s new law is a “verbal threat of war” to anyone who violates it. Letting the law go “unchallenged” is tantamount to “submission”.

It could be recalled that China has been claiming South China Sea including territories under the Exclusive Economic Zone of the Philippines. – PTV News
