PH Gov’t prohibits entry of foreign nationals due to COVID-19

The Philippine Government will prohibit the entry of foreign nationals in the country due to Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. has clarified that the release of visa is temporarily suspended in all Philippine embassies and consulates worldwide due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, authorities can assist foreigners who need to leave the country, DFA Sec. Locsin added.

DFA Sec. Locsin initially spoke with Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat on the suspension of the release of visa since tourism will be the first sector to be affected.
