PH hits 4-M mark in administered COVID-19 doses

The latest data shows that in the Philippines, over four million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered.

A total of 4,097,425 doses have been administered in the Philippines, making it the second top country among ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) member states with the most number of doses administered as of Sunday (May 23), according to Bloomberg.

The Philippines also ranked 13th out of 47 countries in Asia and 37th out of 196 countries globally that have administered the most doses of COVID-19 vaccines.

To date, there are four vaccine brands being administered in the country: Sinovac, AstraZeneca, Sputnik V, and Pfizer-BioNTech.

As of Saturday, the National Vaccination Operations Centre (NVOC) of the Department of Health (DOH) said 3,147,486 of the total administered jabs were first doses, while 949,939 were second doses. Some 162,513 jabs are administered daily, on average. –jlo
