Members of the national Ice hockey team are working hard to make sure that they will still emerge as the champions in the coming Southeast Asian Games. The national squad registered a historic first gold medal in the 2017 SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia after upending Thailand, 5-4, in the finals. Before the 2017 biennial games, the Philippine hockey team also won a bronze medal in the 2017 Asian Winter games in Japan.
