PH imposes travel restrictions to 6 more countries


Six more countries were added to the list of countries with travel restrictions that aims to prevent the new Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) variant from entering the Philippines.

According to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, the travelers from Portugal, India, Finland, Norway, Jordan, and Brazil are denied entry in the Philippines from January 8 to January 15.

Foreign travelers who arrive in the country before January 8 are subject to a 14-day quarantine despite testing negative in the RT-PCR test for COVID-19.

Sec. Roque confirmed that this directive has been approved by the Office of the President based on the recommendation of the Department of Health (DOH) and Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA). The Philippine government has now imposed travel restrictions to 27 countries. – PTV News
