PH-Israel to pursue more collaborations promoting two-way tourism

The Philippines and Israel are set to pursue more collaborations to promote two-way tourism as both countries begin to open their doors to foreign visitors.

In a meeting between Philippine Ambassador to Israel Macairog Alberto and Israel’s Minister of Tourism Yoel Razvozov on February 3, 2022, the opportunities for the recovery of the tourism industries of both countries were discussed.

“Both countries will move forward from the COVID-19 pandemic. The Embassy will continue its efforts to actively promote Philippine tourism in Israel which will allow the entry of foreign tourists starting 10 February 2022. The Philippines will once again participate in the upcoming International Mediterranean Tourism Market (IMTM), and invites Israeli tourism industry players to the World Travel and Tourism Council Global Summit to be held in Manila on April 20-23, 2022,” said Ambassador Alberto.

“The Ministry of Tourism continues to work in bringing Filipino hotel workers to the hotel industry of Israel as we slowly ease restrictions to allow more travelers to the country. The reopening of tourism in the Philippines is welcome news for Israelis who are very eager to visit the islands,” Minister Razvozov said during the meeting.

In 2019, about 22,000 Israelis visited the Philippines while more than 33,000 Filipino pilgrims and tourists visited the Holy Land. (DFA)-rir
