PH logs 14-K new COVID cases for 3 straight days

More than 14,000 fresh COVID-19 cases have been recorded for the past three consecutive days, based on the Department of Health (DOH) daily COVID case update. 

On Monday (Aug. 16), at least 14,610 tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total number of active cases to 106,7672.

For the past two days, additional new cases were 14,249 and 14,749 for Saturday (Aug. 14) and Sunday (Aug. 15), respectively.

As of Aug. 16, the total recorded number of COVID-19 cases are 1,755,846, at least 1,618,808 recovered, while 30,366 died due to the disease.

 

Hospital care utilization rate

As of Aug. 15, at least 3,900 or 70% of the total intensive care unit (ICU) beds are utilized, while some 20,100 or 60% of the total isolation beds in the country are being occupied.

At least 71% of the ICU beds in the National Capital Region (NCR) are utilized. -rir
