PH now has 15 COVID-19 testing facilities

The Philippines now has 15 coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) testing facilities that will expedite the country’s capacity in identifying individuals positive for COVID-19.

According to National Task Force for COVID-19 Chief Implementer Secretary Carlito Galvez, there are also 2, 673 quarantine facilities nationwide. 6 mass quarantine facilities will be operational this week and more expected to operate soon.

Sec. Galvez has stated that fortified targeted testing and contact-tracing are seen by the government as the key to control the spread of COVID-19. He also applauded the cities and regions namely Manila, Valenzuela, Marikina, Pasig, Baguio, Davao, Caraga and the Bicol Region for setting good examples in implementing the enhanced community quarantine. – Report from Mela Lesmoras
