PH signs $370 million loan to expedite distribution of land to CARP farmer beneficiaries

The Philippines has signed the $370 million loan from the World Bank to expedite the distribution of lands to Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) farmer beneficiaries.

According to Department of Finance (DOF) Secretary Carlos Dominguez III, the loan agreement was signed to help the Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling or the “SPLIT Project” of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR). This includes the purchase of new technology that will help the productiveness of the farmers’ harvest and income. The government has currently distributed 4.8 million hectares of land to 2.8 million beneficiaries under the CARP.
