PH to experience cloudy skies, rain showers on Tuesday

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said three weather systems will bring cloudy skies and some rain showers across the country on Tuesday, May 3.

A low pressure area seen within the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) at 230 kilometer east southeast of General Santos City will be affecting most parts of Mindanao.

According to PAGASA, moderate to heavy rains are expected over the Northern Mindanao and the Davao region, Caraga, Zamboanga Peninsula, and Soccsksargen brought by the scattered rain showers and thunderstorms. Possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains may occur in these areas.

Same weather conditions and impacts will also prevail across Batanes and Babuyan Islands caused by the frontal system.

Meanwhile, the easterlies will bring fair weather over Metro Manila and the rest of the country with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. Possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms may occur.

PAGASA also added that light to moderate heading east to southeast winds will blow across Visayas, Mindanao and the rest of Luzon with slight to moderate coastal waters.

Moderate to strong winds from northeast to east will blow across the Northern Luzon with moderate to rough coastal waters. -Report from Edmund Rosales/VC – gb
