PhilHealth assistance to COVID-19 patients continues

The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) will continue to help suspected, probable, and confirmed cases of COVID-19.

Based on the new scheme released by the agency, the PhilHealth coverage starting today will depend on the diagnosis of the patient.

Patients with mild pneumonia are entitled to Php 43, 997 coverage; Php 143, 267 for those with moderate pneumonia; Php 333, 519 for severe pneumonia, and Php 786, 384 for critical pneumonia.

Patients can apply at PhilHealth offices for additional support, especially those who cannot pay their entire bill.

“Kung indigent ‘yung pasyente, wala siyang means of support and then nasa DSWD, meron siyang documents of DSWD or covered siya ng 4Ps; and then we will provide additional funds para wala siyang ibabayad (If the patient is indigent and has no means of support and is in DSWD, has documents of DWSD or covered by 4Ps; then we will provide additional funds so the patient will not pay for anything),” PhilHealth President Ricardo Morales said.

Patients who paid for their hospital bills due to COVID-19 can also apply for reimbursement. – Report from Sandra Samala
