Php30.8B fund approved for LGUs one-time Bayanihan grant

Local governments will now receive one-time Bayanihan grant fund from the national government as additional assistance in the fight against COVID-19.

Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Spokesperson USec. Jonathan Malaya has confirmed in the Laging Handa Briefing that the Php 30.8 billion fund for the program has been approved.

The one-time Bayanihan grant the LGUs will receive is equivalent to their one-month internal revenue allotment (IRA).

“We expect na ang guidelines po ng DBM ay lalabas ngayong araw, at kung lumabas po ngayong araw ay in the next few days, matatanggap na po ‘yan ng ating mga local government units (We expect the DBM guidelines to be released today. If it is released today, the LGUs will receive the grant in the next few days),” Malaya said.

Meanwhile, Malaya clarified barangay volunteers in the front lines are qualified to receive hazard pay. – Report from Patrick de Jesus
