Physical Science student tops PIA ASEAN On-the-Spot Poster Making contest at PSAU

MAGALANG, Pampanga, Sept.15 (PIA) — Secondary Education major in Physical Science student Cris Nicole Pineda placed first in the ASEAN On-the-Spot Poster Making contest of the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Region 3 at Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU).

Pineda bested 19 contestants and she received Php 5,000 cash prize and a certificate.

Her winning artwork displays an image of a woman, with the ASEAN flags as the hair, holding the world that clearly portrays unity.

In the background, Pineda also showed peace and economic development among the member states through the symbols drawn in her poster.

Moreover, Secondary Education major in Physical Science student Angelica Tayag landed second and received Php3,000 while Elementary Education major in Generalist Education student Melody Solomon ended third and took home Php2,000.

“As part of hyping the Philippine Chairmanship of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) this 2017, PIA in Central Luzon will be holding campus forums in different provinces to educate and pitch support from the youth in this endeavor,” PIA Regional Director William Beltran said.

Prior to PSAU, PIA conducted ASEAN Campus Fora in Tarlac State University, Central Luzon State University, Aurora State College of Technology, Tarlac Agricultural University, Bataan Peninsula State University, and Ramon Magsaysay Technological University.
