PICE QC celebrates 37th founding anniversary, inducts new officers

The Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE) Quezon City Chapter celebrated both their 37th founding anniversary and the induction ceremony of their officers with the theme, “Civil Engineers’ Competency Enhancements Towards the 4th Industrial Revolution” on March 5, 2019 at the Luxent Hotel.

The induction ceremony was led by PICE National President, Dr. Robert Licup who administered the following individuals as the new officers of the organization

The new PICE QC President, Engr. Laurence Tato looks forward into the opportunities and the goals of the organization in 2019, particularly with their focus on private civil engineers.

“God’s timing has arrive for PICE Quezon City to strengthen its core, by soliciting the active participation of Quzeon City civil engineers in the private sector.” Tato said.

Engr. Tato was also grateful for the government’s “Build, Build, Build” program, but he also reminded civil engineers about their responsibilities on the effects of the construction of infrastructures towards traffic.

“Let us remember as civil engineers we also do have transportation and traffic engineering, hence it is still in our professional cloak to find solution[s] to the adverse transportation and traffic effect brought about by public works construction.” He added.

PICE QC also planned to improve their Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programs, promote entrepreneurship to its members, and continue their corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs such as tree planting activities, supporting Brigada Eskwela and including Pre and Post-Earthquake Assessment Response Program (PPEARP) in the depressed areas of Quezon City.
