Pinoy boxer loses welterweight title bout in Thailand

DAVAO CITY — Filipino Sonny “Pinoy Hearns” Katiandagho lost via technical knockout in the sixth round to Thailand-based Nick Frese in their battle for the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) Asian Boxing Council welterweight title on Saturday at the Workpoint Studio in Bang Phun, Thailand.

It was the fifth loss for Katiandagho against 12 wins.

Frese, on the other hand, scored his eight win by knockout and the 10th victory with no loss.

Frese of Netherlands previously knocked out Anh Tuan Dao Nguyen of Vietnam in the third round on March 23, 2019, at the Workpoint Studio.
