PN hosts Maritime Security Symposium 2018

MANILA — The Philippine Navy (PN), through its Office of Naval Strategic Studies, will be hosting the Maritime Security Symposium 2018 (MSS18) at the New World Manila Bay Hotel, Manila on Thursday.

Navy spokesperson Capt. Lued Lincuna said this year’s theme is “Harnessing the Sea Power Potential of the Philippines”.

The symposium aims to develop the concept of sea power from the experience and perspective of the Philippines as an archipelagic state.

Lincuna said speakers will include Rear Admiral Amarulla Octavian, Dean of the Indonesian Defense University, Capt. Michael McArthur, Director of the Sea Power Centre-Australia, and Sen. Gringo Honasan, Chairperson of the Senate Committee on National Defense Security, among others. (PNA)
