PNP: P747-M worth of illegal drugs seized in 45 days

By Alec Go

The Philippine National Police (PNP) said illegal drugs worth P747 million were confiscated during police operations from Jan. 1 to Feb. 15 this year, while 692 big time drug pushers and 5,588 street level drug personalities were arrested.

A total of 176 drug users also surrendered for the past 45 days.

PNP chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. said this is a result of an effective intelligence-driven and community-oriented approach against illegal drug trade.

Azurin commended the PNP personnel’s anti-illegal drugs efforts, and urged them “to continue to work together” and “to build a safer, more secure, and drug-free Philippines.” – gb
