The Philippine National Police (PNP) acquired a total of 35 million worth of personal carrier and transport vehicles on Monday, June 20.

PNP Officer-in-Charge PLt. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr. said that eight vehicles were procured through Congress-Introduced Increase in Appropriation for the Fiscal Year 2021 sponsored by Senator Juan Edgardo Angara and Senator Imee Marcos.

“This initiative is a very big help to the Philippine National Police in terms of enhancing our mobility capability. Ito ay di lamang po napakalaking tulong sa ating PNP but to the community they serve as well,” Danao said.

The vehicles were presented by Director for Logistics Police Major General Ronaldo Olay through Senator Angara’s representative Congressman Rommel Angara in Camp Crame.

The vehicles will be distributed to eight municipal police stations of Aurora Province particularly in Baler, Dingalan, Casiguran, Dipaculao, Dilasag, Maria Aurora, Dinalungan and San Luis, while the other three light transport vehicles will be given to Philippine National Police Academy and Philippine National Police Training Institute.

Meanwhile, Danao said he is hopeful that the new vehicle units will be used with caution.

“Sa ating walong Municipal Police Stations na mapalad na makakatanggap nitong mga sasakyan, sana ay pakakaingatan at gamitin ninyo ito ng maayos para matagal pa ninyo itong  mapakinabangan,” Danao said.

He also expressed gratitude to the seven municipal mayors from Aurora province for their support to PNP and for extending help to their local PNP units.

“In behalf of the 225,000 men and officers of the Philippine National Police, we would like to express our utmost gratitude especially for those vehicles, sana po ay di kayo magsasawang tumulong para sa ating mga kapulisan.” – gb
