PNP Bicol records 8 politically-motivated shooting incidents

LEGAZPI CITY — The Philippine National Police (PNP) in Bicol has recorded 123 shooting incidents all over the region from January 1 to May 3, with eight cases deemed politically motivated.

PNP Bicol spokesperson Senior Inspector Ma.Luisa Calubaquib on Wednesday said that of the recorded shooting incidents, 87 were cases of murder with Albay having 20; Camarines Norte – 5; Camarines Sur – 17; Masbate – 39; and Sorsogon – 6.

Three were recorded as homicide cases with Albay-2 and Camarines Norte-1; while 33 cases recorded were physical injuries: Albay-1, Camarines Norte-4, Camarines Sur-7, Masbate – 20, and Sorsogon-1.

Calubaquib said eight village officials were shot and killed –one in Camarines Norte, one in Sorsogon and six in Masbate.
