PNP Calabarzon to launch ‘Clean Rider’ program on Aug. 1

CALAMBA CITY, Laguna – Police Regional Office (PRO4A)-Calabarzon is inviting all legitimate motorcycle owners who are of good standing and have zero crime records to sign up for the Philippine National Police (PNP) “clean rider” campaign.

Supt. Chitadel Gaorian, chief of the PRO4A regional public information office, told Philippine News Agency on Monday that this latest PNP campaign will be launched on Wednesday, Aug. 1 at Camp Gen. Vicente Lim, Barangay Mayapa in this city

Gaoiran said the clean rider campaign was conceptualized through the series of meetings with National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), Police Regional Office 3 (Central Luzon) and 4A (Calabarzon – comprised of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon).

“The program aims to help curb and prevent incidence of crime, especially those committed by motorcycle riding suspects (MRS) or previously referred to as the notorious riding-in-tandem (RIT) criminals,” Gaoiran said.

She added the program will also help the police in checking the owners’ compliance with the permits and licenses requirements and traffic laws.

For the program’s benefits, motorcycles bearing the “clean rider” stickers are ensured that their 2-wheeled vehicles have undergone inspection and properly registered in the province, city or municipality of the rider’s residence.

“This (clean rider sticker) will provide ease to the motorcycle owner-driver when going through police checkpoints,” she said.

Interested parties may proceed to any local police station and fill up an application form and submit the documentary requirements like original receipt/certificate of registration, deed of sale (if not registered to original user’s name), and two government valid IDs.

All stickers are given for free. (Gladys Pino/PNA)
