SILANG, Cavite – Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief and Director General Oscar Albayalde made his second visit this month to the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) to interact with the police cadet corps, boost their morale and at the same time, inspire them to become a new breed of police officers.

Albayalde also took time out to join lunch with the cadet corps in the premier academy’s tradition of the “boodle fight” at the mess hall.

“Like you, I am also an enthusiastic man. I gave my life and best shot during my cadet year in the academy. I want you to be respected, trusted and dedicated cadets and later on as police officers,” Albayalde said during his 9-minute address before the scores of aspiring police officers.

He was welcomed with ceremonial honors by newly-installed PNPA Director, Chief Supt. Jose Malayo, Police Regional Office (PRO4A)-Calabarzon Regional Director Chief Supt. Edward Carranza, Cavite Provincial Director Senior Supt. William Segun, and other officers upon his arrival.

“As the chosen one, I want you to be trained and educated to be the next PNP Chief and respected officers of the PNP,” he added.

The PNP chief’s visit came in the wake of the recent scandal involving three senior cadets, who allegedly coerced two plebes to perform oral sex as a form of punishment on Oct. 2, this year.

Albayalde had also visited the police training camp when he accompanied President Rodrigo Roa Duterte last November 2.
