PNP Chief Gamboa denies allegations on his visit to Baguio

Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Police General Archie Gamboa has strongly denied allegations of holding a party during his visit to Baguio City.

In a Twitter post, the PNP Chief allegedly had a party with his mistah and did not implement the quarantine protocols in the summer capital.

“I don’t know where the information came but again I vehemently deny, that there was no party at the Chief PNP cottage in Baguio City,” PNP Chief Gamboa stated.

PNP Spokesperson Police Brigadier General Bernard Banac emphasized that “PNP chief Gen Gamboa was in Baguio to oversee the peace and order situation in the Cordillera and was supposed to attend a simple Saturday testimonial parade for retiring officials by the Philippine Military Academy as member of Class 1986. That was eventually cancelled in deference to the current situation of the pandemic,”

PNP Baguio City said that the camp of Gamboa underwent Triage Malen to enter Baguio.

Meanwhile, Malacañang will still have to get the side of the retiring PNP Chief.

“Ang masasabi ko lang po we will check with General Gamboa if there was such a party at number 2 kung nagkaroon ng party then we will ask for explanation. Although ang Baguio City po ay under MGCQ ha, under MGCQ, hindi po siya MECQ. So ang MGCQ allowed up to 50 percent capacity (All I can say is we will check with General Gamboa if there was such a party and number 2, if ever there was a party, we will ask for explanation. Although Baguio City is under MGCQ, not MECQ. Under MGCQ, 50% capacity is allowed),” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque stated. – Report from Bea Bernardo
