The Philippine National Police (PNP) administration is currently pursuing officers who use unregistered, impounded, recovered, and carnapped cars following Police Chief General Camilo Cascolan’s order to conduct a crackdown.
PNP Chief PGen. Cascolan directed the Highway Patrol Group (HPG) and Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG) to lead the campaign. A lockdown will be implemented in police camp for surprise inspection. He also ordered the inventory of the cars impounded in camps and police stations.
“Everyone from the region will adhere to the mandate of the Chief Philippine National Police,” PNP Spokesperson PCol. Ysmael Yu stated.
PCol. Yu pointed out that many cops in the institution might still be using impounded cars that is why the PNP has given a stern warning to corrupt officers that they may face criminal and administrative cases if caught red handed with the undocumented and stolen car.
“The PNP internal cleansing program will be put into action without fear or favor. There will be no sacred cows in this drive, whoever is involved, let the axe fall where it may.” PGen. Cascolan warned. – Report from Bea Bernardo
