PNP eyes zero-casualty during Holy week, Ramadan

Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief General Rodolfo Azurin Jr. said on Sunday, April 3, the police force is eyeing “zero casualty” during the celebration of Holy Week and Ramadan,

In his message on Palm Sunday, Azurin wished safe travel for all travelers this upcoming holiday.

“Let’s keep this holy week one of the safest and most peaceful one,” Azurin said.

The Holy Week officially commenced last April 2 with Palm Sunday and will end on April 9 with Easter Sunday while Eid’l Fitr will conclude on April 20.

To ensure safety, PNP launched Ligtas Summer Vacation 2023 campaign with the deployment of 74,114 police officers during these celebrations.

For complaints, there will be Assistance Hubs and Police Assistance Desks with 38,387 officers

Additionally, 39,504 officers will be assigned to terminals, commercial areas, and places of worship.

Meanwhile, Azurin also called for the citizens’ cooperation with their safety protocols.

“Let’s aspire for zero casualties among our personnel and the community we are serving and protecting as we observe our holy week,” he stated. – gb
