PNP: Filipinos are complying with government directives this Christmas

Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Police General Debold Sinas confirmed that there has been no major incident from Christmas Eve until early Christmas morning.

According to the PNP Chief, this is proof that Filipinos are complying with the directives of the government. But while Christmas Eve has been peaceful, PGen. Sinas admitted that the biggest challenges were minors going out, implementation of social distancing, and mass gathering.

PGen. Sinas visited areas in the cities of Quezon, Caloocan and Manila to ensure the alertness of police personnel. He added that police visibility will be increased on Christmas day, Friday, for security purposes.

He also appealed to the public to stay at home to prevent the further spread of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). He reiterated that children are prohibited from caroling. – Report from Daniel Manalastas
