PNP fine-tunes final preps for ADB meeting

MANILA — Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Oscar Albayalde on Wednesday met with senior police officials to fine-tune final preparations for the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) Annual Board of Governors’ Meeting starting May 2 until May 6.

Aside from Albayalde, also present during the meeting at BSA Twin Tower, Mandaluyong City were National Capital Region Police Director Camilo Cascolan, Chief Supt. Alfredo Valdez, commander of the task force for ADB Manila 2018; and Chief Supt. Reynaldo Biay, Eastern Police District Director.

Albayalde called on all police units to perform their respective duties effectively and efficiently. The PNP earlier said it will field a total of 7,700 police personnel to secure the event that would be attended by around 3,000 dignitaries, including 67 finance and economic planning ministers.

Security Task Force “ADB Manila 2018” will involve a combined contingent of 8,504 public safety personnel from the law enforcement, local government, fire, and medical emergency services.

Aside from the venue and hotels, government law enforcers will also secure routes to and from the airport. (PNA)
