As the civilian national police force in charge of ensuring the safety and orderliness of more than 100 million Filipinos spread across the country, the PNP plays an indispensable role in deterring crime and ensuring that the citizenry abides by the law.

The efforts of men and women in blue uniforms are not lost on the common folk, as a recent survey conducted by OCTA Research noted a 63% trust rating and 61% satisfaction rating for the first quarter of 2026.

Figures show that the highest trust rating was recorded at 74% in Mindanao, followed by Visayas at 66% and Balance Luzon at 59%. Mindanao also gave PNP top marks in its performance rating at 69%, followed by 63% in Visayas, and 59% in Balance Luzon.

In a statement on Wednesday, PNP Chief PGen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. welcomed the results of the survey, which reflect the public’s confidence in the institution with the mandate of protecting and serving Filipinos.

The independent survey was conducted from March 19 to 25 through face-to-face interviews of 1,200 respondents aged 18 and above, which represents the general population of the Philippines.
